Optimizer for WordPress

The plugin that lets your AI agent apply the fixes you approve, right on your WordPress site.

Version 0.1.1 · WordPress 6.0+ · PHP 8.1+ · Tested up to WordPress 7.0 · Free, GPL-licensed

  • Asks before anything changes

Your agent proposes a fix. Nothing on your site changes until you approve it.

  • Logs every change

Each change is recorded on your own site, with the value it replaced.

  • Can undo any of them

The old value goes back exactly. If someone edited it since, the undo stops instead of overwriting their work.

The hands, not the brain

Optimizer checks your website, your Google profile and AI search, decides what is worth fixing, and asks you. The plugin only carries out a change you approved. It holds no SEO logic of its own and never acts by itself, and its code ships as plain, readable PHP under the GPL.

What it can change

  • Page titles and meta descriptions
  • Image alt text
  • Social previews (Open Graph and X cards)
  • LocalBusiness structured data
  • llms.txt, a summary of your site written for AI assistants
  • The IndexNow key file, so Optimizer can tell Bing when a page changed

With Yoast SEO active, it writes Yoast's own fields, so Yoast's screens show the new values and Yoast stays the only plugin printing those tags.

Install it in three steps

  1. Download the plugin.
  2. In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin, choose the file, then Install Now and Activate.
  3. Press Start connecting, sign in to Optimizer, and approve the connection on your own site. There is no key to copy.

You need WordPress 6.0 or later, PHP 8.1 or later, and an administrator login.

How updates arrive

The plugin isn't in the WordPress plugin directory yet, so the first install is a file. After that, new versions show up on your Plugins screen like any other update, and nothing changes until you update. Each update check sends the plugin, WordPress and PHP versions, and nothing about your content or visitors.

On version 0.1.0? Upload the latest file once the same way, and WordPress offers every update after that.

Changelog

  1. 0.1.1

    • WordPress now offers new versions of the plugin on its Plugins screen, like any other update. Nothing installs until you update.
    • Each update check tells Optimizer which version the site runs, with its WordPress and PHP versions.
    • View details now describes this plugin instead of asking WordPress.org about it.
  2. 0.1.0

    • First beta. Applies six kinds of approved change: page titles, meta descriptions, image alt text, social previews, LocalBusiness structured data, and llms.txt.
    • Records every change with the value it replaced, and puts the old value back on request. An undo is refused if someone has edited the same field since.
    • Writes Yoast SEO's own fields when Yoast is active.
    • Clears the site's caches after each change and reports which ones it reached.
    • Connects in one step: sign in to Optimizer and approve on your own site, with no key to copy.
    • Serves the key file that lets Optimizer tell Bing when a page changed.
