A Semrush Local alternative that asks before it acts
Semrush Local automates your Google Business Profile for $30–60 a location — including auto-replies to your reviews. Optimizer covers more ground and asks before anything changes. An honest comparison.

The short version
Semrush Local is real automation at a fair price: AI posts, photo publishing, and review auto-replies on your Google Business Profile. The trade-offs are scope and control — it covers your Google profile only (website and AI answers are separate Semrush toolkits), and it publishes on its own. Optimizer checks Google, your website, reviews, and AI answers together, and nothing goes out without your OK.
At a glance
What Semrush Local does well
Credit where due: at $30 a month per location (billed annually), Semrush Local is aggressively priced, and the automation is real. Their AI agent writes and publishes Google posts, posts photos on a schedule, and replies to reviews on its own. The Pro plan at $60 adds listing sync across directories and review generation, plus a bigger credit pool for their map rank tracker. Behind all of it sits Semrush's data machine, which is genuinely one of the best in the industry.
If you run ten locations and nobody owns marketing, "the profiles post themselves and reviews get answered" is real value. No argument.
The two questions to ask before you buy
First: do you want auto-replies going out to your customers? A review reply is your voice. It's the owner saying "thanks, Susan" — or handling the one-star from the customer who's threatening to call the city. Semrush's model is that the AI answers for you, automatically. Optimizer's model is that the agent drafts, and you approve before anything is published. Neither is wrong. But you should decide on purpose, not find out later which one you bought.
Second: is your Google profile the whole problem? Semrush Local covers your Google Business Profile. When someone asks ChatGPT for an emergency plumber, or lands on your website and can't find your service area, that's outside the toolkit. On Semrush, those live in separate subscriptions — SEO Classic from $139/mo for the website side, AI Visibility at $99/mo per domain for the AI answers (their pricing pages, July 2026). Stack all three and you're near $270 a month across three toolkits. Optimizer checks those surfaces together in one $49 plan.
The honest asterisk: each Semrush toolkit goes deeper on its own turf than we do. SEO Classic gives you keyword research at a depth we don't pretend to match. If you have a marketer on staff who'd use it, that depth is worth paying for. Most owner-operators don't need it — they need the fix list.
What you give up choosing Optimizer
Fair is fair, so here's the reverse list. No automatic listing sync across directories. No auto-publishing cadence — every change waits for your approval, which is the point, but it does mean things don't happen while you ignore it. And none of Semrush's research tooling. If those matter more to you than oversight and coverage, buy Semrush Local. Genuinely.
Which one you actually need
If you want your Google profiles run hands-off across many locations, and you're comfortable with an AI speaking as your business without checking in, Semrush Local does that for less money per location than anyone this side of a spreadsheet. If you're an owner whose name is on the truck — where one wrong auto-reply to an angry customer costs more than a year of software — you probably want the agent that asks first. That's Optimizer. Stick with Semrush Local if…
- You manage several locations and want posts, photos, and replies handled without touching them
- You track a long keyword list on the map — their credit pool covers more keywords than our weekly checks
- You already pay for Semrush and your team lives in it
- You want listing sync bundled in the same subscription (their Pro plan)
Try Optimizer if…
- You want to see what goes out under your business's name before it goes out
- Your problem is bigger than your Google profile — website, reviews, and what AI assistants say
- You'd rather pay one flat $49 than per-location with annual billing
- You want a short weekly plan, not another platform to learn

Per location, yes: $30/mo on Base versus our $49/mo, with their price billed annually (verified on their pricing page, July 2026). But it covers your Google Business Profile. If you also want your website and AI answers covered inside Semrush, those are separate toolkits — SEO Classic from $139/mo and AI Visibility at $99/mo per domain. Optimizer covers all of those surfaces in the one $49 plan. Which is cheaper depends on how much of the picture you want watched.
